This is Erika.

First and foremost, Erika is a dog mom to her adorable blind rescue dog Jackie. After that, Erika is a queer, female film and television writer with a love for all things whimsical and meaningful.

This year, Erika has been going through a journey of personal growth that has heavily influenced her work. Her grandpa died New Years Day (2026), and a little over a month later, she and her ex-husband decided to divorce. What?! Why would she put this on her website?

"I'M IN LOVE WITH MY THERAPIST"

LIVE-ACTION DARK COMEDY SHORT FILM

Erika is writing, directing, and independently producing this 30-minute film inspired by her divorce.

SYNOPSIS

Vivienne is a hot, chaotic Survivor fan who falls in love with her “hot baby face therapist” Nate while navigating a failing marriage. Vivienne slips in and out of vivid fantasies as she struggles to understand whether she is experiencing transference, stemming from unmet needs in her marriage, or a genuine connection with Nate. Their therapeutic relationship grows more confusing once Vivienne and Nate bond over a shared interest… Survivor of course. Vivienne begins to question whether Nate shares her feelings. Will Vivienne and Nate’s alliance survive, or will it blossom into an IRL showmance that blindsides every other alliance in Vivienne’s life?

Erika's dog Jackie is clearly her biggest inspiration. She co-wrote this film about what she imagines he does when she's not home.

SYNOPSIS

A small blind dog with the gifts of super smell and super hearing fights to save Glendale from everyday menances like cats stuck in trees, elderly people who take too long to cross the street, and a vengeful pigeon who wants to poop all over Glendale.

Before Erika and her ex-husband split, they wrote this horror film about a couple adopting a dog who causes the dissolution of their relationship. Foreshadowing? Perhaps.

SYNOPSIS

Anxiety is a bitch in this short horror film about Mara (she/her), a young queer novelist, whose downward spiral threatens her career, relationship, and sanity after her partner Joey (they/them) brings home a demon dog, who might be more demon than dog.

Before Erika had Jackie, she had a special needs rescue cat named Esmeralda. She wrote this pilot while grieving Esmeralda's passing, and she included her queer voice by turning Esmeralda into a bisexual crime-solving cat.

SYNOPSIS

Detective Agatha Catsy solves mysteries in the crime-ridden city of Big Milk where humans and talking animals

live side-by-side, and milk is every bartender’s drink of choice. Catsy hides a dark secret behind her milk mustache. Before she was the most clever cat detective Big Milk has ever seen, she was notorious cat burglar Big Milk has ever known... and the lesbian lover of Big Milk's most infamous crime lord, The Raven.

MORE ABOUT ERIKA

Sharing her divorce experience has helped Erika connect with other creatives who are on similar paths of self-discovery. It has brought more authenticity to her work. She believes we are humans before anything else, and writing is one of the best ways we can capture the human spirit.

During the day, Erika works as a script and voice records coordinator on the Primetime Animated Series "Grimsburg" at Bento Box Entertainment. Her other credits include "Steven Universe: The Movie" (Production Assistant), "Steven Universe Future" (Production Assistant), "Bless The Harts" (Production Coordinator), "Lego Dreamzzz" (Production Coordinator).

While she has a soft-spot for writing animated content, Erika is venturing into live-action. She is in the midst of writing, directing, and producing an independent short film inspired by her divorce journey called "I'm In love With My Therapist." She is launching a live-action independent film production company with her friends called "Popcorn Stitch Cinema."
